About Strange Engines

Strange Engines is primarily about a class of 19th Century weapons that seem like the inventions of a Steam Punk writer bent on mixing Victorian technology with elements of science fiction. But these devices were real – mentions of them are scattered in patent records and newspapers.

But other curiosities may sneak in from time to time about anything else that can serve as an “engine” in life – ideas, people and things that make things “go” like traditional music, history, culture, money, etc.
